1975 Larry Hutchens purchased A.D Hopkins Distributing
from his father-in-law and renamed it L. E. Hutchens, Inc. to continue providing quality products and experienced service to their customers.
2000 L.E. Hutchens, Inc rebranded to Hutchens Petroleum
to better reflect the Hutchens family’s commitment to the business and the expansion of their services.
2007 Tim Hutchens purchased the business from his uncle, Larry
and began strategic planning to expand their product line, services and service area.
2017 Hutchens Petroleum purchased their Tennessee facility
to expedite and streamline distribution into eastern Tennessee.
2019 Hutchens Petroleum purchased Rentz-Eden Oil
a local fuel supplier with a strong reputation in the communities they serve.
2020 Hutchens Petroleum rebranded to Hutchens Rentz-Eden
to better communicate our brand and capitalize on the strong Rentz-Eden reputation.
2022 Hutchens Rentz-Eden purchased the lubricant assets of Superior Plus Energy
in Verona, Virginia to expand the company’s footprint into the Shenandoah Valley.
2023 Hutchens Rentz-Eden purchased Watts Petroleum Dealer & Lubricant business
in Lynchburg, Virginia to expand their fuel and lubricant business in the New River Valley and Central VA.
